FreePBX - firstboot error pbx_first_boot.sh
When installing the latest FreePBX Distro (http://www.freepbx.org/freepbx-distro) I got an error message after installation:
Some firstboot error occured, and the system is not properly setup.
Check to see if you have internet access and re-run /etc/pbx_first_boot.sh Press ctrl-alt-f1 to continue
Since I was working in a Virtual Machine (Citrix XEN) I was unable to press ctrl-alt-f1 as it would only set my view to fullscreen (basic Citrix XENCenter setting).
Fortunately I was able to make a SSH connection to the server so I was able to see what was going on.
I examined the /var/log/pbx/install/firstboot.log file and simply concluded there was no internet connection.
This had to do with a CentOS 6 issue I described here: http://www.minezone.nl/node/3
Today I did a couple of checks to see why I never got this issue before and installed some old FreePBX distro's that were still in my ISO folder.
The old distros with CentOS 5 do not have this problem (tried this 4 times) but every time I installed a newer distro with CentOS 6 I ran into this problem (tried this 5 times).
So if you run into this problem and you are installing a distro with CentOS 6 check your internet connection.
Very important that you don't forget to run /etc/pbx_first_boot.sh again when you restored your internet connection!
